Rockport VO2 Max Walking Test
for Women

VO₂ max is a widely used indicator of cardiovascular fitness and endurance. Below is a table showing a VO2 Max by age for women. To calculate your own VO2 Max, use the instructions and calculator below.

  1. Walk as quickly as you are able for 1 mile

  2. Take your heart rate measurement as soon as you have finished the mile

  3. Take a note of the time it has taken you to complete the mile (convert this to decimal e.g. 14 minutes and 30 seconds is 14.5)

  4. You can now calculate your estimated VO2 max.
